Frequently asked questions
Quick answers for families thinking about Crestview.

Starting at Crestview
What age can my child begin, and which levels do you offer?
Crestview welcomes children from age 2 in Toddler Playgroup, then Pre-Kindergarten 3 and 4, Grade K and Elementary Grades 1 to 5. See the grade placement guide and international equivalency table on the Admissions page. Grade placement guide
Does my child need to speak English already?
No. Many young students start with little or no English. Older children who need it receive English support.
Will limited English at home affect my child's progress?
Early childhood research shows this has little effect on language learning. A strong mother tongue can even help a child learn a second language. Reading and talking in English at home can speed things up.
Can my child join in the middle of the year?
Preschool: yes, while seats are available. Elementary: in Semester 2 with a Semester 1 grade from the previous school, or with catch-up classes (THB 10,000 per core subject, 7,000 per other subject). We do not offer trial days.
Are siblings given priority?
Yes. Siblings are prioritized on the waiting list, and sibling discounts apply.
Learning and teachers
What curriculum does Crestview use?
Both divisions use the DISCOVER Framework. Preschool follows the International Preschool Curriculum (IPC). Elementary follows the US Common Core State Standards. Read about our curriculum
How many students are in a class, and who teaches them?
Following Ministry of Education guidelines, classes hold at most 20 students in Preschool and 25 in Elementary. Each class has a foreign lead teacher and a Thai Teaching Fellow for every 10 students. Your child also works with several other teachers each week for specialist classes and activities.
Where are the teachers from?
Our teachers come from many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, South Africa, Mexico, Bulgaria, Russia, Syria and Thailand. The mix changes as teachers join and move on. Every teacher is trained in the Crestview Way, and we welcome talented educators of any nationality.
Does Crestview teach Thai?
Yes. Thai Language, Culture and History follow the Thai Basic Education Curriculum, together with Mandarin Chinese.
How do you support children with learning needs?
Our Learning Support team builds an Individual Education Plan with you. Please tell us about any needs when you apply.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Through ALMA, our parent app: daily diary, attendance, messages to teachers and reports. Parent-teacher conferences are held each semester.
What happens after Grade 5?
Graduates move on to Grade 6 (Year 7 UK, Prathom 6). We provide full records and help with the transfer. Your child will be ready for any English Program or international program. For a Thai Program, extra Thai classes may help, and Ministry rules say a child cannot be refused entry to a school because of the program.
